I’m trying to crawl out from behind my rock and get more tech savvy to help me launch a business of words and sounds. I’ve been skeptical and nervous about AI and kinda fighting against the current. I’m still pro-nature and want humans to disengage from devices and get more real with each other, or at least pursue the true human treats of making art and spending time in nature. I don’t like the idea of AI replacing artists, or writing student essays for them. I’m a teacher by trade, so I have real concerned about misuse of the tool.
But if AI can do more grunt work for humanity, then, I think it’s good. I worry about it getting into the wrong hands and making it even harder for people struggling to find a way to make a living if what they do isn’t seen as competitive in the new bot-force.
I found reading your article helpful and I recognize that AI could be more useful to learn more about than I was initially believing. I’m an old codger who tends to get grumpy about technological advancements, but I know that my writing practice has taken off because of the handy notebook I carry around in my pocket for capturing the ideas when they crop up like seedlings after a gentle rain.
I’m glad I’ve found a solid resource to help me navigate these high tech waters.
